SAF-Holland inaugurates new plant in Coahuila

COAHUILA - The German company SAF-Holland has inaugurated its new plant in the Amistad Sur Industrial Park in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.

With an investment of US$33 million, the plant will focus on the manufacture of fifth wheel assemblies for tractor-trailers, mainly for the U.S. and Mexican markets.

This plant, located in a 157-square-meter building, stands out for its high-tech equipment and design, making it the most modern of its kind in the world.

At the inaugural event, the Secretary of Labor, Nazira Zogbi Castro, on behalf of Governor Manolo Jiménez, expressed her gratitude to the investors for their confidence in Coahuila and Piedras Negras.

'This investment consolidates the sustained economic growth of the region,' stated Nazira Zogbi Castro, highlighting the state's conditions of security, legal certainty and labor peace.

She also emphasized that the plant will generate more than 270 jobs once it operates at full capacity, with above-average salaries, which will foster a positive dynamic in the rest of the local companies.

Frank Lorenz Dietz, SAF-Holland's chief financial officer, highlighted the warm reception received in the city and state, and how factors such as security were decisive for the investment.

'We have found Piedras Negras an ideal place to expand our operations, thanks to its stability and institutional support,' he noted.

The president of INDEX Coahuila Norte, Alejandro Ruiz Rueda, affirmed that the arrival of SAF-Holland will strengthen the organization's ranks and attract more investment to the region.

This is a significant investment for Piedras Negras and a positive sign for future investors,' said Ruiz Rueda.
