Samsung seeks to boost electromobility projects in NL
NUEVO LEON - The Governor of Nuevo Leon, Samuel Alejandro Garcia Sepulveda met with representatives of Samsung in Latin America to advance investment projects in the state in electromobility and renewable energy.
The meeting, which took place at Palacio de Cantera, was attended by Hyeon Cheol Choo, General Manager of Samsung C&T in Latin America. Also in attendance were the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez; the Secretary of Mobility and Urban Planning, Hernán Villarreal Rodríguez; and the Undersecretary of Investment of the Ministry of Economy, Emanuel Loo.
García Sepúlveda highlighted the importance of this meeting for the economic development of Nuevo León. "Last year we visited our friends from Samsung on a working tour to South Korea. Now, it was our turn to welcome Hyeon Cheol Choo, CEO of Samsung C&T in Latin America, to Nuevo León to show him that we are the new global hub for technology and electromobility. We continue to be the best place to invest and do business; technology, electromobility and new energy projects continue to arrive," said the governor.
For his part, the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, explained that the purpose of this first visit of Samsung investors is to analyze projects in conjunction with Nuevo León on electromobility, specifically issues on charging stations, in addition to promoting renewable energy projects.
"The visit goes hand in hand with what we are doing to turn Nuevo Leon into the largest electromobility hub in Latin America and also has to do with what we are doing with the Agency for the Promotion and Use of Renewable Energy, these green energy projects," said Rivas Rodriguez.
It is expected that in the coming months specific agreements will be signed between the Government of Nuevo León and Samsung for the development of electromobility and renewable energy projects.
