Senyo and ATECS add US$31 million in investments for Guanajuato

Osaka-based Senyo Co., Ltd., founded in 1956, confirmed an investment of US$20 million to build a plant in the municipality of Abasolo, Guanajuato, which will specialize in high-precision mechanical components, such as bearings and machined parts for the automotive industry.

The company will operate with advanced technology, including CNC lathes and robotic inspection systems; the project will generate 70 direct jobs. The company's global customers include NTN Corporation, Sanyo Special Steel Co, and Okida Iron Works, with a production capacity of up to 600 million parts per month.

“The relationship we have with Japan is very important, not only economically, but also in terms of values, and we are working to make these more than 2,000 Japanese living in Guanajuato feel at home, and to learn from each other's cultures and traditions,” said the governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, during her working tour in Japan.

Meanwhile, ATECS, a company dedicated to the development of plastic parts for electric and hybrid vehicles, announced an investment of US$11 million to establish itself in León as of 2026.

The company specializes in the development, design and manufacture of plastic parts through the injection molding process, with a strong focus on insert molding of components that combine high-performance plastics with other materials, such as metal.

Its new plant in León will create 130 jobs and manufacture parts for the automotive industry, specifically for electric vehicles (EV) and hybrids; its direct clients are Panasonic in Mexicali and Honda at its plants in Ohio, United States, and Canada.

With these investments, Japan consolidates its position as the state's main commercial partner, accumulating more than US$8.9 billion in projects from 2006 until before the current visit of the president.

The 113 Japanese companies established in Guanajuato have generated more than 48,000 jobs, guaranteeing the continuity of thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the automotive sector, informed the state government.
