Seojin Mobility inaugurates auto parts plant in Nuevo Leon

The South Korean company Seojin Mobility inaugurated the first phase of its auto parts plant in the municipality of General Escobedo, Nuevo Leon, with an initial investment of US$160 million and the generation of 300 direct jobs.
The plant will focus on the manufacture of components for electric motors, as part of the growth of the electromobility sector in the region. The company said that after evaluating several locations, it chose Escobedo due to factors such as its strategic location and the availability of qualified human capital.
Emmanuel Loo, head of the Office of the Ministry of Economy, emphasized that this facility reinforces the collaboration with assembly companies already established in the state and is part of the drive towards an industry more focused on clean technologies.
Seojin Mobility also announced that the second phase of the project is scheduled for completion in 2028, with an additional investment of US$140 million.
The inauguration event was attended by company executives, including Ki Wook Bae, Global CEO of SECO, and Byung Hyuk Kang, CEO of Seojin Mobility Mexico, as well as municipal authorities, who toured the new facilities.
