Seojin Mobility Inaugurates First Phase of Nuevo Leon Plant

The South Korean auto parts manufacturer, Seojin Mobility, inaugurated the first phase of its plant in Escobedo, Nuevo León, which will require an investment of US$160 million and the creation of 300 new direct jobs, according to local media.
The manufacturing center will produce key components for electric motors and is currently conducting audits with a view to starting mass production next June.
The second phase of the plant will be completed by 2028 and will involve an additional investment of US$140 million, state officials announced at the opening ceremony.
The company will supply parts for electric and hybrid cars to Kia/Hyundai, although globally it has clients such as Tata, General Motors, Peugeot and Renault.
The event was attended by Ki Wook Bae, global executive director of Seojin Automotive, parent company of Seojin Mobility, as well as the director of Seojin Mobility Mexico, Byung Hyuk Kang, and the mayor of General Escobedo, Andrés Mijes.
