Sonora Move 2026: Aiming to establish itself as a frontrunner in the e-mobility industry

The Sonora Automotive Cluster (CLAS) announced the launch of Sonora Move, a strategic forum aimed at positioning the Sonora-Arizona-Baja California region as a leading hub within the automotive industry and the transition to electromobility.

During the announcement, CLAS President Juan Carlos Campoy Ramos stated that Sonora Move will serve as a regional coordination engine, capable of strengthening the supply chain and attracting new investments.

The forum will place special emphasis on electromobility, positioning Sonora as a natural hub for the development of technologies related to electric vehicles and clean energy. Additionally, the event reinforces the role of northwestern Mexico in nearshoring, leveraging its proximity to the US and its industrial integration with Arizona and Baja California.

Sonora Move 2026 will take place in the city of Hermosillo and will feature the participation of key companies such as Ford Hermosillo, Toyota, Kenworth, and Beyond Movilidad Compartida, as well as automotive supply chain providers such as Montaplast, Martinrea, Schnellecke Logistics, Grupo Industrial ESD, and Energia Neumatica.

In 2025 alone, Sonora accounted for 9.04% of Mexico’s total vehicle production, with 357,524 units produced by Ford Hermosillo. As a result, it generated 101,792 new jobs in the sector, with an average daily wage of US$41, 16% higher than the national average.

These indicators consolidate the state as a key player in the future of mobility in North America.
With this event, Sonora is committed to leading the transformation toward cleaner, smarter, and more competitive mobility, strengthening its role on the global industrial map.
