SPG expands with new Guadalajara plant

Specialized Packaging Group (SPG), a North American provider of sustainable protective packaging solutions, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico, in response to increasing demand for advanced packaging used to transport high-value technology equipment, including data center servers.
The Guadalajara site will focus on engineered crate solutions that protect sensitive products during transit, strengthening SPG’s ability to serve customers across Mexico and the broader North American market. By producing closer to demand centers, the company aims to enhance responsiveness and reduce lead times for key clients in technology, industrial, and logistics sectors.
The facility also reinforces SPG’s commitment to sustainability through practices that support material reuse and recycling as part of its closed-loop manufacturing ecosystem. This approach helps minimize waste while improving efficiency and performance in protective packaging solutions.
Company leadership said the investment underscores SPG’s strategic focus on innovation, customer service, and environmentally responsible practices, positioning the Guadalajara plant as a regional hub for high-complex packaging tailored to emerging markets.
