Sportback version reintroduced to the Audi A3

Audi announced that it has reintroduced the iconic A3 Sportback to its product portfolio, now with a sportier look, new design elements, and digital features.

The standard equipment has been significantly expanded, and new materials have been used to improve the comfort of this iconic model. The A3 Sportback is now available at all Audi dealerships in the country in three versions: Dynamic, Select, and S Line, in addition to the sporty S3 and the super sporty RS3.

This model, which arrived in Mexico in 1998, was originally launched as a three-door hatchback with four-cylinder engines. A year later, the convertible version called Cabriolet was introduced.

In 2004, the second generation arrived in Mexico, and the following year, the Sportback version was added. With the introduction of the Sedan version in 2013 and considering the Mexican market's preference for sedans, the decision was made to remove the A3 hatchback and Sportback from the product portfolio.

Currently, this iconic model, which has four generations, is returning to Mexico and will be available starting in November at all Audi dealerships in the country.

The new Audi A3 Sportback is more dynamic, with a frameless hexagonal Singleframe grille and a noticeably flatter and wider structure dominating the front, along with large side air intakes, clearly hinting at the sporty character of this compact model.

The striking front spoiler connecting the air intakes makes the Audi A3 Sportback appear lower. The same is true of the rear, which is sportier than ever thanks to the new fascia and a distinctive diffuser.

The new design elements are particularly striking with the S line exterior, as they are largely inspired by the RS models. For this model, the Audi rings are presented in 2D.

In the Dynamic and Select versions, the Audi A3 Sportback comes standard with 17-inch wheels, while the S line and S3 come with 18-inch wheels. Available exterior colors: Arkona White, Brilliant Black, Arrow Gray, Daytona Gray, Python Yellow, Ascari Blue (at extra cost), Navarra Blue, Glacier White, Manhattan Gray, Mito Black, Progressive Red, and District Green.

Audi Exclusive and Audi Exclusive matte effect colors are also available at extra cost.

Like the revamped Singleframe grille, the headlight design is significantly more streamlined, accentuating the width of the Audi A3 Sportback. The 24-pixel elements that make up the digital daytime running lights of the LED and Matrix LED headlights are arranged in three rows at the top edge of the housing.

It is now possible to select and switch between up to four different daytime running light signatures

via the MMI. This offers a greater degree of personalization, as you can change the look of your model at any time.

The rear light clusters also feature a progressive light design and a new staging of the coming home/leaving home function.

Stylish interior

In keeping with the exterior, the interior has also been significantly styled.

It features new additions ranging from the design of the gear lever and air conditioning vents to the decorative fabric inserts and new ambient lighting.

All these precise and detailed elements accentuate the progressive look of the vehicle.

The standard equipment has been expanded: in addition to the leather-covered three-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, the ambient lighting package and front center armrest are now also included in all versions.

The new design of the air vent fins on the optional climate control package for the Dynamic and Select versions, with a chrome finish on the outer surface, makes them appear slimmer, accentuating the width of the cabin.

The center console has been redesigned and given a new finish, as have the interior door handles.

In addition to practical cup holders, the center console also comes standard with an integrated armrest that can be moved forward or backward and tilted.

The compact gearshift lever for operating the S tronic transmission is perfectly integrated into the center console thanks to its new, flatter design.

Standard ambient lighting adds light to the door area and footwell.

The optional ambient lighting package plus with more than 30 colors offers additional lighting elements and contour lighting on the control panel and door sills. With the update, the contour lighting runs along the center console and cup holders.

A new design element is the front door lighting, available with the optional ambient lighting pro package.

The upholstery in this area has been laser-cut 300 times to enable this feature.

Its five segments are backlit by a light source located in the door panel itself, and their different sizes create a dynamic flow of light that can also be seen when closing and opening the vehicle.

The illuminated fabric combines functionality with a highly emotional design experience. The MMI allows you to choose from 30 colors, adding a high degree of personalization.

The speakers of the new Sonos sound system, standard from the S line version upwards, are located at the bottom of the doors, allowing you to enjoy an immersive listening experience with 3D sound.

The A3 Sportback now features two decorative inserts made from textile material: a technical fabric made from 100% recycled polyester and Dinamica microfiber.

In addition to its use as a decorative element, Dinamica microfiber is also used in the seat upholstery and adorns the door panels in some interior packages.

The Audi A3 Sportback is digital and connected thanks to numerous connect services and an online app store.

The 10.1-inch touchscreen with voice recognition for controlling the infotainment and vehicle functions, the Audi virtual cockpit plus, and an inductive charger for mobile phones are part of the standard equipment.

In addition to the two USB-C charging ports in the front, there are two additional ports in the center console for passengers in the rear seats.

RS 3 Sportback, the Top of the Range

The top-of-the-range model in the A3 family, which represents the ultimate in performance, is now even sportier. Audi has intensified the driving experience of the RS 3.

This is immediately apparent: the striking lines of the front, the sporty wheel design, and the RS seats visually enhance the dynamism, which is acoustically accentuated by the roar of the five-cylinder engine with its characteristic firing sequence.

The 2.5 TFSI, combined with the optimized chassis configuration and new tires, allows the RS 3 to offer even more agile dynamic performance.

The dominant feature of the powerful front design is the hexagonal Singleframe with a striking frame.

Flatter and considerably wider, it accentuates the model's dynamism with its voluminous diamond-pattern grille, while the redesigned daytime running lights and headlight clusters also emphasize the car's performance.

The expressive bodywork features a range of RS-specific exterior colors: Kyalami Green and Kemora Gray, the new Ascari Blue, Piton Yellow, and Progressive Red metallic paints, and Daytona Gray with a pearl effect.

In addition, Audi Exclusive colors and a matte finish are available upon customer request. The Singleframe and diffuser have a high-gloss black finish.

Audi has equipped the RS 3 with a five-cylinder turbo engine, torque splitter, new standard tires, and semi-slicks.

Additionally, it features 19-inch motorsport-inspired wheels, RS bucket seats, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The compact sports car thus sets a recipe for success.

This flagship model is now available at all Audi dealerships in the country in the following versions: Dynamic, Select, S Line, the sporty S3, and the super sporty RS3, with starting prices ranging from 724,900 pesos for the Dynamic version to 1,599,900 pesos for the RS3.
