Stellantis Ram Power Wagon with Cummins Engine Makes Its Debut

In response to consumer demand, Stellantis kicked off the year with the debut of the 2027 Ram Power Wagon, available for the first time with the latest version of the Cummins 6.7-liter inline six turbo diesel engine.
This heavy-duty pickup truck, produced at the Saltillo assembly plant, generates 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque while retaining its well-known off-road capabilities.
The new Power Wagon will debut alongside the “resurrected” Ram 1500 TRX, whose SRT variant has already been confirmed for the Mexican market. However, even though the Coahuila plant already produces 1500 series pickups, production of the TRX will remain at the Sterling Heights assembly plant in Michigan.
“Customers have been recommending for years that we incorporate the Cummins engine into the Power Wagon,” said Tim Kuniskis, who heads Stellantis' American Brands, SRT Performance, Marketing and Retail Strategy divisions for North America.
“And if our recent product announcements have proven anything, it's that Ram offers customers the choice of trucks they want. The combination of the Power Wagon with the Cummins turbo-diesel engine offers everything our die-hard Ram fans expect: off-road capability with the best diesel engine in the HD segment. It's the Power Wagon they've been waiting for.”
The Ram Power Wagon with Cummins turbo-diesel engine will hit the U.S. market in the second half of 2026 with a starting price of $88,470, including shipping.

A Wagon with Diesel Power
The arrival on the market of a Power Wagon with a Cummins turbo-diesel engine is the latest milestone in the history of a model whose legacy dates back to 1945, but it goes far beyond a simple powertrain change.
Like its gasoline-powered counterpart, the 2027 Ram Power Wagon with Cummins turbo-diesel engine features underbody skid plates that protect the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank, fuel tank, and transfer case.
To balance heavy hauling with off-road prowess, the turbo-diesel Power Wagon features 20-inch satin black wheels with machined accents and 34-inch off-road tires.

The latest iteration of Ram's off-road truck lineup retains rugged front and rear axles with class-exclusive locking differentials, activated by electromagnetic actuators (e-lockers).
When deactivated, the rear lock functions as a mechanical limited-slip differential, improving passive traction.
Manufactured by American Axle Manufacturing, the axles measure 9.25 inches (23.4 cm) in the front and 11.5 inches (29.3 cm) in the rear, delivering power through a 3.42:1 pinion and crown gear ratio.
The robust rear axle shafts have been upgraded to 38 mm, providing rotational force directly to the 34-inch tire and wheel combination.
Like the rest of the Ram Heavy Duty line, the Power Wagon features an advanced three-link front suspension that ensures roll stiffness, but it differs from the rest with an exclusive design featuring Bilstein monotube shock absorbers and a class-exclusive electronic disconnecting stabilizer bar.

This configuration allows the front axle to move more independently from the truck chassis for better articulation and overall off-road capability.
The rear axle features Ram's class-exclusive five-link coil suspension, equipped with Bilstein monotube shock absorbers and coil springs, including a Bilstein shock absorber that connects the rear axle to the chassis for greater control and stability.
This superior design offers better ride quality and articulation compared to traditional leaf springs, balancing payload capacity with ride comfort.
The option of a class-exclusive rear air suspension with automatic leveling takes comfort and capability to the next level.
To optimize diesel engine torque delivery, the turbo-diesel Power Wagon adopts the 3.42 axle ratio introduced in the 2025 Ram Heavy Duty line.
Combined with the TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission, this configuration offers a higher final drive ratio in gears one through six for reliable towing performance and acceleration, and a lower ratio in gears seven and eight for better highway fuel economy and less noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
Its standard 31-gallon fuel tank allows for an estimated range of 600 miles, ideal for travelers looking to spend days off the beaten path.

Presencia Imponente

For those seeking a more practical configuration, a heated cloth bench seat is available as standard, with the option to upgrade to heated and ventilated leather-trimmed bucket seats.
The Power Wagon's Level 2 Equipment Group adds extended leather contact points for a superior experience, including grab handles and column shift lever.
It comes standard with advanced technology and safety features, such as the Uconnect 5 infotainment system with 12-inch touchscreen, integrated trailer brake controller, ParkView rearview camera with dynamic grid lines, and ParkSense front and rear parking assist.
Advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-path detection also come standard.
Optional upgrades include a Uconnect 5 infotainment system with a 14.5-inch touchscreen, a class-exclusive interactive display for the front passenger, towing and off-road information pages, and premium amplified audio systems from Alpine (9 speakers) or Harman Kardon (17 speakers).
Towing Power and Payload
With a towing capacity of nearly 20,000 pounds and a payload capacity of nearly 3,000 pounds, the Ram Power Wagon Cummins turbodiesel is designed to haul everything from off-roaders and side-by-sides to box storage systems, RVs, and trailers.

The Trailer Technology Package and Trailer Technology Package Plus expand the Ram 2500's innate capability for an even safer towing experience.
The Tow Technology Group consists of a third LED brake light with cargo view camera, 360-degree surround camera system, trailer reverse guide, and trailer tire pressure monitoring system.
Meanwhile, the Tow Technology Plus Group adds a digital rearview mirror 3.0 and trailer reverse steering control.
For the first time, the diesel Power Wagon can also be optionally equipped with fifth-wheel/gooseneck preparation and rear air suspension with automatic leveling, expanding its utility for both work and leisure.
The rear air suspension with automatic leveling maintains a level stance with heavy loads and incorporates a box descent mode for effortless trailer hitching.
