This is the third generation of the Nissan Leaf

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled the third generation of its Leaf 2026 electric vehicle, completely redesigned with clean, dynamic body lines that combine an elegant profile with an SUV-like presence.

Inside, the vehicle features a refined, minimalist cabin optimized for spaciousness, comfort, and well-being, adapting to all of life's journeys.

The new Leaf is the first model to adopt Nissan's new 3-in-1 electric powertrain, which is 10% smaller than the motor used in the previous Leaf and delivers up to 160 kW (214 hp) of power and 355 Nm (261 ft-lb) of torque in select variants.

While the company did not disclose the Leaf's total range, its executives said the vehicle could add 250 kilometers of range with just 14 minutes of charging.

The unit also benefits from a multi-link rear suspension system with a 66% increase in lateral stiffness. Combined with the CMF-EV platform and a more rigid body, the new Leaf offers greater agility and superior ride comfort.

“With more than 15 years of proven reliability and feedback from nearly 700,000 units sold worldwide, the new Leaf builds on its DNA as a reliable, affordable, and attractive option for electric vehicle ownership, offering great value for the mass market,” said the Japanese automaker regarding the launch.

Among its most notable features are:

NACS (North American Charging Standard) port with Plug & Charge function built into vehicles in North America

3D holographic taillights

Panoramic roof with dimming and thermal protection available

Liquid-cooled lithium-ion batteries with a usable capacity of up to 75 kWh

Dual 14.3-inch screens

The new Leaf will arrive at Nissan dealerships in the United States this fall. Pricing details have not yet been revealed. The vehicle will be produced in Japan.
