Les is a shareholder in the Washington DC office of the Michigan-based Butzel law firm. He is chair of the Butzel International Trade and Customs Specialty Team. Les is immediate past Co-Chair of the American Bar Association International Law Section, international Trade Committee; and previously co-chaired the Mexico Committee; and has been a frequent speaker at ABA conferences. Les is the author of a number of books on trade and Customs Law, the most recent being “United States Mexico Trade Agreement (USMCA) - Legal and Business implications”, published by Kluwer Law International.  Les has assisted clients, many in the automotive industry, with tariff and trade issues involving imports into the United States from around the world, most recently concerning China and the many tariff actions that have been imposed on China by Presidents Trump and Biden.
