TYW Manufacturing invests US$50 million in Irapuato

With an investment of US$50 million and the creation of 1,000 direct jobs, Chinese company TYW Manufacturing has opened its new plant in the Guanajuato Industrial Park, located on the Irapuato–Abasolo highway.
The company will focus on producing electronic instrument panels for the automotive industry, with components mainly exported to Korea and the United States for brands such as Kia and Stellantis.
During the opening ceremony, state and municipal authorities highlighted the positive impact this investment will have on the region.
Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, the state's secretary of economy, emphasized that the plant will have a workforce of 650 women and 350 men from Irapuato, Abasolo, and Pénjamo, and reiterated that these types of investments strengthen the local industrial ecosystem with sustainable and socially responsible projects.
For her part, Mayor Lorena Alfaro García celebrated TYW's choice of Irapuato as its headquarters, considering that “it is a privilege to host companies with a global reach” and that this new plant “reinforces the city's role as a strategic destination for economic development.”
With this opening, China consolidates its position as a strategic partner for the state. Currently, Guanajuato is home to more than 10 Chinese companies that, together, have invested more than US$900 million and generated more than 5,000 jobs in municipalities such as Irapuato, León, and Silao.
TYW executives announced that they are already considering expanding the plant in two additional phases, which will increase its production capacity and open up new job opportunities for the region.
