Women occupy 38% of senior management positions in Mexico

MEXICO – The presence of women in management positions increased by 5%, which places Mexico at number 11 worldwide, reveals a study conducted by Grant Thornton.

In Mexico, 38% of senior management positions are held by women, an increase of five percentage points compared to 33% in 2022, reveals the study "Women in Business 2023: Progress towards parity", conducted by Grant Thornton.

This valuation places Mexico at number 11 in the ranking of countries with the highest percentage of women executives and the first in Latin America. The second place in the region is occupied by Argentina with 29 percent; however, globally it falls to number 25.

In the framework of International Women's Day, the report points out that the countries with the most women in management positions are Singapore and the Philippines, both with 49 percent of women, followed by South Africa with 41 percent, Malaysia and Ireland with 40 percent and Australia with 39 percent.

Meanwhile, the United States has only 31% representation, Canada 39% and Spain 38%, the same percentage as Mexico.
