Iberia and Airbus agree on trunk modernization of their A320neo fleet

MEXICO - Iberia and Airbus announced the signing of a contract that promises to improve the passenger experience aboard the A320neo fleet through new baggage compartments, known as "L-boxes," which promise a quantum leap in the inflight experience.

The L luggage compartments will increase carry-on baggage capacity on Iberia's A320neo fleet by a remarkable 60%.

"This novelty will translate into greater efficiency in the boarding and disembarkation processes, contributing to meeting the airline's strict punctuality targets and to the continuous improvement of customer services," said Alberto García, Iberia's Fleet Planning Director.

For his part, Charbel Youzkatli, Airbus Director of Commercial Services Europe, was enthusiastic that the L-Binsson baggage handlers represent a breakthrough that will enrich the passenger experience and optimize the work of the cabin crew.

These Airspace L compartments share components with the Airspace XL compartments, which will reduce spare parts storage costs in mixed fleets while maintaining consistency in Airspace design.
