Cargo drones: the new market for the aerospace industry in Chihuahua
CHIHUAHUA - In order to remain at the forefront and expand its market, the president of the Aerospace Cluster in Chihuahua, Luis Azúa Sánchez, announced the local industry's plans to specialize in cargo drones.
"It is a fact that we have to focus on electrification, it is a fact that we have to delve a lot into autonomous unmanned vehicles and everything that has to do with the hybrid aspect," he said.
Azúa Sánchez informed that they are still working on defining how to reach this goal, which is why talks are being held within the sector; however, he assured that it is a plan to be outlined for the next 5 or 6 years.
"There is a lot of scope for us in aerospace, obviously, but in the drones and cargo drones aspect. So, there's going to be a lot of focus on that," the president of Aerocluster said.
Finally, he referred that so far 2024 has had a great start to the year, so they expect to surpass 2023 numbers.
