Birmingham Fastener sets up in Querétaro
QUERETARO - Birmingham Fastener, through its subsidiary Commercial and Aerospace Supply of Mexico (CASM), installed its first distribution center outside the United States in Querétaro.
The fastener manufacturer and distributor will focus on providing hardware/fastener-related services to companies with projects in the aerospace, construction and commercial industries in the country.
In this way, it is expected to be part of the local supply chain and have quick access to inventory, informed the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (Femia), regarding the start of operations of the unit.
At the distribution center, CASM will receive inventory from Alabama Aerospace, to supply the aerospace and defense sector; it will also receive parts from Birmingham Fastener to supply the construction industry and the commercial sector.
Birmingham Fastener's president, Brad Tinney, noted that the firm is starting its first location outside the U.S. market.
Meanwhile, the general manager of Alabama Aerospace, Dave Clark, added that Querétaro was chosen for its strategic location.
Through the subsidiary, companies will obtain quality parts manufactured in the North American region, as well as access to flexible solutions in several areas: renewable energies, space exploration, communications, hydraulic works, structural steel fabrication and electrical services.
Birmingham Fastener manufactures and distributes fasteners for structural steel fabrication, construction, transportation, waterworks and utilities, OEMs, construction, MRO and others. CASM is currently an active member of Femia.
