Tesla is currently working with Vestas Wind Systems to find a way to combine wind power turbines with batteries, which would enable energy storage during windy periods to be used later, when the air is still. This effort is part of a greater global program managed by Vestas, the largest manufacturer of wind turbines in the world. The Company is looking to expand its energy storage at its wind farms and it is currently working with several battery manufacturers on ten related projects. Vestas announced its new focus on storage during the last yearly general reunion held in April. The alliance with Tesla was disclosed originally by the Danish newspaper Borsen.
