Chinese companies seek to invest in Michoacán

MORELIA, MICH - Chinese companies have expressed interest in investing in Michoacán, according to the Mayor of Morelia, Alfonso Martínez Alcázar.

The official's announcement was made at the conclusion of the participation of the Michoacán business mission that took part in the China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.

In the near future, said Martínez Alcázar, a delegation of businessmen will visit Morelia in the company of the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Run, with the firm intention of investing in the state capital.

In terms of tourism promotion, the Mayor said that the participation of Michoacán, special guest at the international event, generated great interest in China.

In addition, he detailed that the signing of the twinning of the city of Morelia with the city of Nanning was finalized, whose importance lies in the strict conditions required by China to establish a diplomatic agreement of this nature, which opens real opportunities for cultural and economic exchanges.

“The trade mission in China yielded great fruits for Morelia by being the only city in Latin America to participate in an international forum that summoned great economic powers,” said Alfonso Martínez Alcázar.

Also, he added, an agreement was reached to send young people from Michoacan to China for study visits, so that they can learn about the culture and business of this world power.
