Veracruz seeks to attract foreign investment

Veracruz will participate in the Hannover Messe Industrial Fair in Germany, the world's most important forum for industrial transformation. This year's edition will focus on environmental protection, digitalization and sustainability, under the slogan “Energizing a sustainable industry”.

The state's Secretary of Economic and Port Development (SEDECOP), Ernesto Pérez Astorga, highlighted that Veracruz's presence at this event is part of a strategy to diversify markets and attract investment from the European community.

He stressed that the entity has key strategic advantages, such as its wealth of natural resources, first class logistics infrastructure and a direct maritime connection between Veracruz and Hamburg.

“Today, ships arrive full from Germany, but return empty. We must take advantage of this opportunity for more Veracruz products to reach the European market,” said Pérez Astorga, highlighting the export potential of products such as coffee, sugar, Persian lime, mango and pineapple.

As part of its agenda at Hannover Messe, the Veracruz delegation will hold meetings with German importers and key players in the industrial sector to promote the installation of new companies in the state.

The official emphasized that this effort responds to the commitment of the state governor, Rocío Nahle García, to strengthen the attraction of investments and generate jobs for the benefit of the population.
