Chihuahua seeks to strengthen its technology industry with investment from Taiwanese companies

As a follow-up to the trade mission led by Governor Maru Campos last October, officials from the Promotora para el Desarrollo Económico de Chihuahua (Prodech) held meetings with suppliers of Taiwanese companies Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron, which have a presence in the state and have shown interest in expanding their investments.

The meetings focused on strengthening the local value chain, promoting the expansion of these companies' operations and generating new employment opportunities in key sectors such as advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies.

One of the main objectives of these meetings is to attract back end processes or ATP (Advanced Test and Packaging), which encompass the assembly, testing and packaging of semiconductors. In this way, Chihuahua seeks to consolidate its position as a national leader in this sector and strengthen its highly specialized technology industry, contributing to the state's economic growth.

In addition, the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) recently launched the Training and Education Program in Taiwan, aimed at young people from Chihuahua, in order to expand their knowledge in semiconductors, electric vehicles and automation.

These initiatives aim to consolidate the technology industry in Chihuahua, attract strategic investments and develop specialized talent to create a favorable ecosystem for innovation and industrial growth in the region.
