Yokohama’s plant in Coahuila Construction progress reported

The governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez Salinas, held a meeting with executives from Yokohama and Grupo Alianza, in which the progress of the new plant of the Japanese company in the Derramadero area was presented.
Yokohama is investing US$400 million in this facility, which is expected to generate more than one thousand jobs in the region. The company's arrival in Coahuila was finalized after an economic promotion tour of Asia in October 2023.
Construction of the plant began in April 2024 in the southeast region of the state. Yokohama is one of the world's leading tire manufacturers and its installation is part of a series of investments that have been announced in the first months of the current state administration.
During the meeting, the governor reiterated his support for the project and for the companies that choose to locate in Coahuila. In addition, he affirmed that his government is working together with the municipalities and other state powers to strengthen investment conditions and promote the generation of employment.
