South Korean Automotive Supplier Invests US$45 Million in SLP

South Korean automotive supplier SL Corporation announced that it will invest US$45 million in San Luis Potosí to open a manufacturing plant in the Logistik II industrial park, located in the municipality of Villa de Reyes.
The company will operate under the subsidiary SL MEX and will generate around 500 direct jobs with this project, revealed its president Kyungsoo Koo when formalizing the initiative accompanied by the state governor, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona.
SL specializes in the manufacture of front end modules (FEM), side mirrors, electrification modules, and headlights.
However, it will be this last business unit that will begin operations in the country with 12 production lines and a capacity of close to one million units.
The company has Hyundai, Kia, GM, and BMW in its customer portfolio and estimates that its operation in Mexico will generate sales of US$144 million by 2030.
