OMA inaugurates new airport terminal in Ciudad Juárez

With an investment of US$44 million, Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) and VINCI Airports officially inaugurated the new terminal building and comprehensive renovation of the outpatient clinic at Ciudad Juárez International Airport (CJS).

Ricardo Dueñas Espriú, CEO of OMA, commented that what they are seeing in this city is significant economic dynamism, which is why they have moved forward with investments of this type.

Accompanied by the state governor, María Eugenia Campos Galván, and the mayor of Ciudad Juárez, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, the CEO of OMA explained that in the case of this airport, demand for air connectivity has been increasing nationwide, making this city an engine for industrial, commercial, and tourism development.

During his participation, the executive commented that, in the last 10 years, between 2016 and 2024, OMA has invested around US$106 million in this airport.

“The Group's focus for airports is on maintaining security measures, continuously improving the user experience, ensuring operational efficiency, complying with regulations, conserving the environment, and consolidating a vision oriented toward sustainable development,” he said.

Dueñas Espriú explained that what was delivered today was a new terminal building, as well as the comprehensive remodeling of the outpatient clinic. In addition, this project increased the surface area by more than 3,800 square meters of infrastructure, raising the airport's operational capacity to 2.6 million passengers per year and allowing a flow of up to 1,386 people per hour.

He mentioned that this project generated more than 380 direct jobs, contributing to the local economy. In terms of connectivity, he said that this airport connects to 12 local destinations, in addition to cargo operations with DHL and Aeronaves TSM.

He indicated that this airport is a key hub for connectivity and business for Mexico and the United States, where the airlines Viva, Volaris, Aeromexico, and TAR play an important role.
