Motherson SAS Opens Plant in Saltillo

Motherson SAS Automotive Systems opened its second production plant in Mexico in Saltillo, Coahuila, with an investment of US$10.8 million and the creation of 204 direct jobs.
The 10,800-square-meter facility, located in the Mencorsa Industrial Park, began operations almost two months ago with the production of dashboards for the pickup trucks that Stellantis assembles in the region.
The company is part of the Integrated Assemblies division of the manufacturing giant Motherson Group, based in India, which has another plant in the state of Puebla, where it manufactures front modules and other components for Audi.
This branch was created in 2023 after the Motherson Group acquired German cabin component manufacturer SAS Autosystemtechnik GmbH (SAS), which was part of the Faurecia portfolio belonging to the Forvia group, for more than €500 million.
