Nuevo León maintains growth in exports

Nuevo León has consolidated its status as a top Mexican export powerhouse, with overseas sales reaching US$27.7 billion year-to-date, a 3.4% increase over the same period in 2024. The state's strength is underscored by its national leadership in three strategic sectors: electrical accessories and appliances, machinery and equipment, and non-metallic mineral products.

The state's export momentum accelerated in the second quarter of 2025, with figures hitting US$14.5 billion—a 5.0% year-over-year growth for the quarter, according to data released by the Nuevo León Ministry of Economy.

While the transportation sector remains the primary export driver, accounting for 32.3% of the state's total, the leading trio of sectors highlights a strategic diversification of its foreign trade. This multi-sectoral strength enhances the state's competitiveness and resilience in global markets.

Nuevo León's dominance is particularly evident in the electrical accessories and appliances sector, where it ranks first nationally. This leading position reflects the robustness of local supply chains and advanced productive capacity, enabling the state to meet demanding international standards.

The state's robust performance contributes significantly to Mexico's broader positive trade outlook. Nationally, exports grew 5.2% in the second quarter and 4.5% year-over-year, a trend to which Nuevo León is a key contributor.

This sustained growth, fueled by sectoral diversification and deep integration into global supply chains, solidifies Nuevo León's role as a critical engine for Mexico's export economy.
