Aguascalientes consolidates US$253.86 million in automotive investment

During the fourth quarter of 2025, Aguascalientes maintained an active presence on the country's automotive investment map, with projects focused on expanding and strengthening its manufacturing base linked to auto parts and OEM operations.

According to the Automotive Investment Report 4Q 2025by Cluster Industrial B2B, in a national environment marked by capital caution and the prioritization of high-tech investments, the state managed to sustain the dynamism of its already consolidated industrial ecosystem.

Among the most relevant projects of the period is the expansion of Judd Wire (Sumitomo Electric) in the city of Aguascalientes. The Japanese company made an investment of US$32 million, earmarked for the production of high-tech automotive cables for electric vehicles. The project generated 40 jobs and covered an area of 18,540 m², reinforcing the state's position in critical components for electromobility.

Another key move during the quarter was the expansion of Yokohama Rubber, also of Japanese origin, in the municipality of San Francisco de los Romo. With an investment of US$25.8 million, the project focused on the manufacture of hose assemblies for air conditioning and transmission oil cooling, as well as the construction of a new warehouse.

The investment generated 128 jobs and covered an area of 32,000 m², strengthening the state's supply of specialized auto parts.

In the OEM segment, Nissan's expansion in Aguascalientes stands out, a project that entered its groundbreaking phase during Q4. Although the investment amount was not disclosed, it is specified that 1,300 jobs will be created and there will be an expansion of 120,000 m².

The initiative is aimed at the production and assembly of pickups at Plant A1, absorbing volume from other regional operations and incorporating infrastructure for a new chassis manufacturing process, confirming the strategic importance of Aguascalientes within the automaker's production network.
