Leoni AG Invests US$11.4 Million in Durango

Leoni announced a strategic investment of US$11.4 Million to expand its manufacturing operations in Durango, Mexico. The project aims to strengthen the company’s capacity to produce wiring harnesses for electric and autonomous vehicles.

The expansion includes the installation of 14 new production lines, making the facility the first in the country dedicated to this type of advanced automotive component. The initiative is expected to generate 500 direct jobs over the next two years as operations scale up.

Company and state officials highlighted that the investment reinforces Durango’s position within the electric mobility supply chain and reflects confidence in the region’s skilled workforce and industrial infrastructure. The project also supports Mexico’s growing role in the global transition toward sustainable and smart transportation technologies.
