RAM 1500 pickup earns Consumer Guide Best Buy award for tenth year in a row

The automotive editors at Consumer Guide Automotive awarded, for the tenth consecutive year, the Best Buy award for Large Pickup Trucks to the RAM 1500. The pickup was distinguished along with the Dodge Durango, which was awarded the same prize in the Large SUV category for the sixth consecutive year.

“There's a lot of good product hitting the market these days, but some designs are so well executed that they endure the test of new challengers. In the cases of the Durango and Ram, that is especially true,” said Tom Appel, Publisher of Consumer Guide Automotive.

“The Ram 1500 boasts numerous segment-exclusive features in areas most important to truck buyers, supporting best-in-class fuel efficiency with the exclusive EcoDiesel V-6 engine,” said Consumer Guide about the pickup whose crew cab versions are built at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Coahuila and Warren Truck Assembly in Warren, Michigan.

Other features, such as Ram Box bedside storage, hidden bins and a flat-load floor, offer unique solutions for cargo. Available in 11 different trim levels, the Ram 1500 has a full-size pickup for everyone,” concludes the report.

Other Mexico-made vehicles receiving the Best Buy award were the Toyota Yaris iA, which is built by Mazda at its assembly plant in Salamanca, Guanajuato; the Volkswagen Golf in its SportWagen, Alltrack and GTI variations, the Honda HR-V and the “twin” pickups Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, whose crew cab versions are also built in Guanajuato.
