“Huella INDEX” an initiative to promote Yucatan’s export industry

Index Yucatan presented the “Huella INDEX” initiative: a project aimed at highlighting the role of export-oriented manufacturing companies as one of the state’s economic drivers.

The initiative seeks to raise awareness of the industrial ecosystem comprised of companies affiliated with the organization, which participate in global value chains by producing highly specialized components and manufactured goods for international markets.

The goal of this project is to showcase the actual operations of industrial plants located in Yucatan and highlight advanced manufacturing processes, specialized talent, and quality standards that enable companies in the sector to supply industries in different regions of the world.

The organization added that another objective is to contribute to a better understanding of the role played by the export industry in regional economic development, as well as its participation in the dynamics of the relocation of production chains linked to nearshoring.

Index Yucatan invites member companies and strategic partners to join the project, with the aim of documenting and promoting the industrial activity taking place in the state and its integration into global manufacturing supply chains.
