ANAM: Alonso Romero takes over as head of the organization

A change in leadership has been announced at Mexico’s National Customs Agency (ANAM), where Hector Alonso Romero Gutierrez will take the helm with a focus on digitization and the adoption of new technologies. This change ensures operational continuity within the agency, with an emphasis on revenue collection efficiency and process modernization.
The new head has a track record in digital transformation within customs, having served at the Digital Transformation Agency, where he led initiatives focused on modernizing technological systems and processes in the customs sector, positioning him with a technical profile aligned with the current challenges of foreign trade.
Among his main responsibilities at the helm of ANAM are increasing customs revenue—a key indicator for public finances—as well as deepening digitization processes at all of the country’s customs offices, both marine and land-based.
