Sonora Move 2026: Charting new course for industry

During the opening of the forum “Sonora Move: Mobility That Unites Us,” Juan Carlos Campoy Ramos—president of the Sonora Automotive Cluster (CLAUS)—highlighted the sector’s economic importance in the state. He emphasized that the automotive industry already accounts for nearly 15% of the state’s GDP, establishing itself as one of the key drivers of the economy and a pillar for future growth.

Sonora is experiencing a historic moment in terms of industrial growth and exports, exceeding US$28 million by 2025, as a result of joint efforts between government, industry, and academia.

Antonio Astiazaran highlighted that Hermosillo is advancing in the energy transition with concrete actions such as electric fleets and the use of solar energy, positioning itself as a city that does not wait for the future, but builds it.

As part of the event, “El Fantastico” was presented—a mobile laboratory from Tecnologico de Monterrey consisting of an electric vehicle that enables the development and validation of autonomous driving technology under real-world conditions.
