Exports of light vehicles rise

The light vehicle industry reported an 11.4% year-over-year increase in light vehicle exports last April, while unit production rose 2.14%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).


According to the Administrative Registry of the Light Vehicle Automotive Industry (RAIAVL), maintained by INEGI, exports totaled 286,317 units, an increase of 29,364 units compared to April 2025.


In April, production in Mexico’s automotive industry totaled 329,878 units, representing a 2.14% year-over-year increase, equivalent to 6,914 units.


Meanwhile, during the first four months of the year, exports totaled 1,081,948 vehicles, 4.68% more than in April of last year; that is, 48,393 more units. This marks the third consecutive year above one million units.
