SEP starts granting scholarships

The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) announced that the distribution of “Rita Cetina Scholarship” cards is imminent and will take place gradually across all states in the country. The goal of these scholarships is to benefit 7.2 million public elementary school students, who will receive an annual deposit of US$145 per student.
SEP Secretary Mario Delgado Carrillo noted that the cards will be distributed across all states through events organized in coordination with state education authorities and at school campuses.
The scholarship aims to improve learning conditions for elementary students, as it will allow parents and guardians to purchase uniforms, backpacks, shoes, notebooks, and other essential supplies so that students can continue their education.
The national coordinator of the Welfare Scholarships program, Julio Leon Trujillo, explained that the parents and guardians of eligible students will be notified in a timely manner, through their children’s school, of the date, time, and location to pick up their program card. He noted that it is essential to check the informational poster posted at each school.
