Naturgy invests US$318 million to energy infraestructure

The Spanish multinational company Naturgy, which specializes in the generation, distribution, and sale of electricity and natural gas, has committed to investing US$318 million in Nuevo Leon to develop strategic energy infrastructure aimed at bolstering manufacturing growth, industrial expansion, and the rise of nearshoring in the state.
Naturgy has maintained a strategic presence in the state since 1997 as one of the leading operators in the distribution and marketing of natural gas for industry and the residential sector. Recently, the company bolstered regional competitiveness with an expansion in Pesqueria, considered one of the key areas for attracting industrial investment.
For the Spanish company, Mexico represents its second most important market after Spain. Currently, all of its investments in the country are concentrated in Nuevo Leon, where it operates more than 6,800 miles of gas infrastructure and serves more than one million users.
The energy network developed by Naturgy has become a strategic component in ensuring energy security, sustainability, and competitiveness for one of North America’s leading manufacturing hubs.
