CIAC’s new platform promotes circular economy

With the aim of boosting the competitiveness of automotive companies through more sustainable and efficient models, the Coahuila Automotive Industry Cluster (CIAC) presented the Circular Economy Platform for Competitiveness, a tool designed to transform opportunities for improvement into projects that deliver economic, environmental, and social benefits for the industry.

During the presentation, participants noted that the circular economy has become a strategic element for companies that are part of global supply chains, especially in sectors such as the automotive industry, where environmental and sustainability requirements are increasingly stringent.

The platform aims to provide companies with tools to identify areas of opportunity related to cost reduction, the efficient use of materials, and the utilization of industrial waste or byproducts, with the goal of generating competitive advantages for participating organizations.

To achieve this, the strategy includes various areas of focus, such as training and project development, an industrial symbiosis marketplace to identify collaboration opportunities between companies, supplier development initiatives with a gender perspective, and financial coordination mechanisms focused on sustainability and value creation for businesses.

As part of the platform’s implementation, the CIAC reported that the first phase will involve six leading companies, whose participation will have an indirect impact on approximately 60 suppliers linked to their operations.
