Scania & GIZ promote female talent development

In partnership with the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GIZ), Scania announced the launch of the “Tecnicas del Futuro” program in Mexico: an initiative in the heavy transport industry that is part of the “Mujeres Conduciendo el Cambio” project, focused on building a pool of female talent for the transport sector.

“Tecnicas del Futuro” aims to increase the representation of women in the transportation industry through comprehensive development that expands opportunities for training, mentoring, and job placement for women in long-term technical and specialized roles.

The project receives technical and financial support from the DeveloPPP global financing program of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Pro Sociedad, and Grupo CEDVA, with the vision of joining forces to promote sustainable, safe, and inclusive mobility by strengthening technical capabilities to accelerate the sector’s transformation in areas such as decarbonization, electric transportation, and inclusion.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will have a career plan and will be connected with job opportunities at companies in the transportation sector. Scania will actively work to facilitate this transition in collaboration with Pro Sociedad and other project partners.

Training women in technical fields represents a strategic step toward building a more competitive and diverse industry that is ready to meet the challenges of electromobility, innovation, and the future of transportation in Mexico.
