Volkswagen Mexico earns high marks for its supply chain

Throughout its value chain, Volkswagen de Mexico connects local capabilities with global standards and promotes collaboration among companies involved in manufacturing, logistics, technology, and specialized services.

An integrated industrial network requires companies to operate under common environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance criteria, enabling them to collaborate more efficiently, reduce risks, and respond to the demands of an increasingly dynamic sector. When these criteria are extended throughout the value chain, processes are streamlined and conditions are created for more consistent operations.

For this reason, Volkswagen de Mexico has adopted the Sustainability Rating (S-Rating), a Volkswagen Group process that evaluates suppliers on aspects related to environmental performance, social responsibility, corporate integrity, and corruption prevention. A positive evaluation is a requirement for securing new business within the Group.

By the end of 2025, 89% of Volkswagen de Mexico’s suppliers had received a positive rating through the Supply Chain Sustainability Program—a result that demonstrates the company’s efforts to incorporate environmental, social, and integrity criteria at various levels of the value chain, in line with the global strategy.
