Queretaro closes 2Q with US$262 million in automotive Sector

Queretaro reaffirms its position as one of the most dynamic states in Mexico’s automotive industry; while it did not top the ranking in terms of investment amount, the state stood out for the diversity of projects announced and launched.

According to the B2B Industrial Cluster’s Q2 2026 Automotive Investment Report, the state accumulated US$262 million in direct automotive investment during the first half of the year—equivalent to 6.7% of the national total—spread across 20 projects, generating 1,635 jobs, 70,700 square meters of construction, and two projects related to electromobility.

During the second quarter, Queretaro maintained steady activity through expansion projects, new investments, and the launch of operations that strengthen both manufacturing and industrial services associated with the automotive sector.

Most of the investments recorded during the quarter were concentrated in specialized suppliers, consolidating Queretaro’s position as one of the nation’s leading centers for the manufacture of high-value-added components.

The second-quarter results show that Queretaro maintains a distinct profile compared to other leading states in terms of investment volume. While states such as Coahuila and Nuevo Leon focus on large OEM projects, Queretaro continues to build an ecosystem based on the integration of specialized suppliers and precision manufacturing.

The participation of manufacturers of electronic components, steering systems, camera modules for electric vehicles, hydraulic solutions, and specialized services also strengthens Queretaro’s position within regional supply chains, particularly for the electric vehicle and advanced manufacturing segments.
