Aguascalientes & Michigan: Boosting the automotive sector

Aguascalientes reinforced its strategy in the United States with an agenda focused on the automotive industry, holding meetings with manufacturers, supply chain organizations, and economic development institutions to strengthen investment attraction, promote productive projects, and expand collaboration with one of North America’s leading automotive hubs.

During the working tour, Governor Tere Jimenez led meetings with companies already established in the state, industry suppliers, and organizations specializing in innovation and economic development, with the goal of consolidating new opportunities for the automotive industry in Aguascalientes.

One of the key meetings was with executives from Tenneco, a US company with operations in the state, where they reviewed the growth of its activities in the state and the progress of the new production line that recently began operations. The meeting also addressed the conditions for continuing to strengthen the company’s presence in Aguascalientes through future projects to expand its production capacity.

In the area of innovation and technological development, the Aguascalientes delegation met with representatives from Automation Alley, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and the Detroit Regional Partnership (DRP)—organizations specializing in economic development and investment attraction.

The discussions focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration in sectors strategic to the evolution of the automotive industry, including electromobility, advanced manufacturing, technological innovation, and the development of next-generation industries.
