Egypt diversifies Jalisco’s exports.

Exports between Mexico and Egypt this year have reached US$28,939 million. Given that the economies of both Egypt and Jalisco complement each other, in addition to opening up new market opportunities that strengthen various businesses, such as the agri-food, manufacturing, energy, electrical, chemical, and construction sectors.

During the webinar, “Egypt: A Key Market for the Diversification of Jalisco’s Exports,” organized by the Arab-Mexican Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Jalisco’s Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), López Acle highlighted the opportunities the Egyptian market presents for companies in Jalisco.

Imports from Egypt result in US$47,430 million, with apparel being one of the main imported products—specifically, men’s and children’s clothing. Meanwhile, the main products exported by Jalisco to Egypt were cell phones, dried legumes, pepper, petroleum oils, transformers, and air pumps.

“It is important for companies to consider Egypt as part of their expansion strategies. In addition to being a growing market that is committed to investment, infrastructure, and economic diversification, its strategic location makes it an ideal platform for accessing other markets in North Africa and Europe,” emphasized the CAMIC CEO.

Finally, let's not forget that Egypt ranks as one of Africa's largest economies, with a GDP of US$429,000 million, and that Jalisco ranks as the 14th state in the country in terms of trade with Egypt, with exports totaling US$ 15.3 million and imports amounting to US$ 6.7 million.
