Nissan Mexico Plants 1,600 Trees.

Nissan Mexico has carried out reforestation efforts in the State of Mexico and Aguascalientes as part of its commitment to sustainability and climate action.
During this event, 1,600 trees were planted, with 320 volunteers participating, including employees, partner organizations, and local officials.
The actions taken by the company are part of a vision aimed at ensuring the company’s sustainability and are aligned with Nissan’s global decarbonization goals, while also contributing to the restoration of forest ecosystems, carbon sequestration, and the recovery of environmental services that are essential to communities.
The reforestation efforts carried out by Nissan Mexico have an estimated potential to capture 1,100 metric tons of CO₂. Similarly, the program includes a tracking and monitoring system aimed at achieving an 80% survival rate, with the goal of strengthening the long-term environmental impact.
Rodrigo Centeno, president and CEO of Nissan Mexicana and INFINITI, stated that: “Sustainability requires concrete actions and a long-term vision. At Nissan Mexicana, we are convinced that restoring ecosystems and strengthening environmental resilience is a shared responsibility. That is why we promote initiatives that generate real benefits for the environment and communities, in collaboration with specialized organizations, authorities, and our employees.”
In addition, the workshop aims to contribute to the recovery of ecosystems affected by forest degradation, fires, pests, diseases, and changes in land use, by creating a healthy forest that helps capture carbon.
This initiative takes a long-term approach, and Nissan, in coordination with its partners, promotes the monitoring of post-planting environmental indicators—including tree survival and growth, biodiversity recovery, and carbon sequestration—with the aim of ensuring lasting benefits for ecosystems.
For some time now, Nissan Mexico has continued to promote reforestation programs in various regions of the country as part of a comprehensive sustainability and social responsibility strategy, with the aim of reaffirming its commitment and creating environmental and social value in the communities where it operates.
