Jalisco Plans to Accelerate Business Growth.

Through the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), Jalisco has launched a call for applications for the “My First Million” program, which aims to accelerate the growth of 30 high-potential Jalisco-based companies by providing US$87,000 in direct grants, according to the state government.

The prize money will be distributed as follows: US$87,000 for first place, US$17,403 for second place, and US$11,602 for third place.

Mauro Garza Marin, General Coordinator for Strategic Growth and Economic Development, has emphasized that the strategy aims to increase exports of products from Jalisco, as well as to boost the commercial capacity of companies in the state.

Meanwhile, Sedeco Director Cindy Blanco Ochoa explained that the program aims to provide specialized support, training, and tools to help entrepreneurs understand the requirements of domestic and international markets.

The 30 companies that are selected will have access to a program that includes a business assessment, a 100-day strategy, 30 hours of personalized consulting, and 10 specialized workshops designed to enhance their commercial, operational, and financial capabilities.  They will also receive support in building networks with strategic partners, helping them access financing programs and prepare for export processes.

This initiative is aimed at businesses that typically sell physical products to end consumers, such as those in the processed foods and beverages, health and wellness, snacks, cosmetics and personal care, pet products, dietary supplements, and household goods categories.

Individuals engaged in business activities or corporations with a validated business model and verifiable sales may participate. However, the program primarily seeks companies with annual sales of one million pesos or more, although projects with lower revenue that demonstrate high growth potential may also apply.
