TKR Nuevo León Promotes Innovation and Growth.

TKR Mexico is a subsidiary of TKR Corporation and nms Holding, a global Japanese manufacturer, located in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

With a history dating back to the decade before last, the company has undergone a transformation since its inception, moving from the production of cassettes, CDs, and DVDs for Sony to expanding its capacity to manufacture more complex products and serve sectors such as the automotive industry, consumer electronics, energy, casino gaming, and power tools in recent years.

Sergio Antonio Ruiz Leal, CEO of TKR Mexico and TKR USA, notes that this development highlights the incorporation of new technologies, as well as the development of human talent that has taken place over time. This approach allows the plant to evolve toward increasingly specialized processes with greater added value.

One of the areas in which the company tends to specialize the most is the repair and remanufacturing of equipment—for example, the refurbishment of PlayStation 5 consoles, which require after-sales service, as well as the integration of virtual reality headsets, controllers, and other electronic accessories.

Since this operation is one of the most demanding, it requires the highest standards of diagnostics, engineering, quality control, and traceability, which ensures that the equipment meets factory specifications, thereby extending its service life.

One of the company’s key characteristics is its ongoing investment in training. The company works in partnership with universities, technical institutions, and specialized organizations to strengthen the skills of its employees and to prepare the next generation of engineers and technicians.

The next step in manufacturing is not only automation but also the implementation of AI; in addition to having a strategy that increases productivity, improves quality, and maintains competitiveness in the face of rising labor costs, the company is also developing projects in collaboration with teams from China and Japan that aim to incorporate automation and artificial intelligence solutions into both production processes and administrative areas.
