Natura Expands Its Plant in Celaya

Natura Mexico has decided to expand the production lines at its plant in Celaya, Guanajuato, by incorporating new technology into its quality control processes, with the goal of increasing production by 30 to 60 percent. This project aims to mark a new phase for the complex, which serves as the hub for Natura and Avon’s manufacturing and distribution operations in the country.

With an area of more than 189,000 m² and employing more than 1,000 direct employees, the facility is part of a supply chain that seeks to indirectly benefit another 24,000 people, the expansion strengthens Celaya’s role within Natura and Avon’s production strategy.

The expansion of this operation will introduce new production lines and quality control technology—elements that Natura is using to increase Mexico’s share of manufacturing. The Celaya plant has taken on greater importance since Avon relocated to the municipality along with its production and distribution operations.

A 30- to 60-percent increase in domestic manufacturing of Natura products would allow the Mexican operation to play a greater role within the company's production structure. For Guanajuato, this expansion also represents an opportunity to strengthen ties with local suppliers, specialized talent, and global value chains.

With a state economic strategy that calls for targeted investments, sectoral diversification, innovation, talent development, and the strengthening of the supply chain, transforming the Natura and Avon complex into an industrial hub with infrastructure, production capacity, and logistics connections for operations on a national and international scale.

The expansion confirms the company's long-term commitment to Guanajuato, increasing Natura's manufacturing capacity in Celaya. The goal is to double the number of products manufactured in Mexico.
