Yucatán Opens Bepensa Plant in Valladolid
Yucatán Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena inaugurated Bepensa’s Centenario Plant in Valladolid, which represents a cumulative private investment of more than US$71 billion and will create approximately 200 direct jobs, according to the state government.
During his remarks, the governor stated that the facility demonstrates the business sector’s confidence in the state and the potential of the state’s interior to attract productive projects and create job opportunities.
The facility has more than 9,900 m² of floor space and a fully automated production line for returnable beverages. With this operation, Bepensa will increase its capacity in this segment by more than 30 percent, in addition to meeting 25 percent of the current demand in the Yucatan Peninsula.
It also incorporates Industry 4.0 technologies, real-time digital monitoring, and artificial intelligence applied to production, as well as wastewater treatment systems, rainwater harvesting, and reverse osmosis.
Bepensa CEO Alonso Gasque Toraya stated that the jobs created are part of the approximately 15,000 employees at the company.
Meanwhile, the president of Coca-Cola Mexico, Louis Balat Joseph, emphasized that the project is part of an investment plan announced earlier this year, in partnership with the Mexican government, totaling US$6 billion—a decision that demonstrates a continued commitment to the country and its future.
During the inauguration, Diaz Mena joined members of Bepensa’s Board of Directors, shareholder representatives from The Coca-Cola Company, business leaders, and government officials to unveil commemorative plaques marking the company’s 80th anniversary and Coca-Cola’s 100th anniversary in Mexico.
