Young Students from Aguascalientes Will Develop Aerospace Technology in Japan

Four young Students from Aguascalientes have been selected to travel to Osaka, Japan, to develop their own technology projects during a six-week stay at the Avantgard Robotics laboratories as part of the first cohort of the Avantgard Pioneers program, an initiative aimed at bringing international knowledge and methodologies to the local context.

The program aims to give participants the opportunity to work directly in the Japanese company's private laboratories, alongside international mentors, using the systems engineering methodology typically employed in standard aerospace quality projects. The goal is for them to create a structured business plan that can be implemented.

The first generation consists of Hiram Vázquez Pérez and Patricio Romo Romero, students in the Information Technology and Digital Innovation program at the Polytechnic University of Aguascalientes, Fatima Ferráez Rios, a Bioelectronic Engineering student at the Universidad Panamericana; and Jorge Monroy, a high school student and winner of the 2026 Municipal Youth Award in the Scientific and Technological Skills category.

Monroy will also participate as the youngest member of the cohort, having been admitted before beginning his college studies.

The participants were selected based on the innovation of their projects and their potential impact, with proposals aimed at resolving the conflicts identified in Aguascalientes.

Avantgard Pioneers provides students with the opportunity to visit Japan to develop their own technology projects in a professional environment; at the end of their stay, they return to Aguascalientes with the skills they have acquired and continue to implement their initiatives in the state. The program is funded by the participants themselves and includes scholarships awarded by Avantgard Robotics, using the company’s own resources.
