Tramontina Expands Local Production of Kitchen Utensils

Tramontina has begun local production of ten lines of frying pans at its plant in Lerma, with the goal of supplying the domestic market from Mexico and reducing dependence on imported products.

The facility, which was inaugurated in March 2026, has a production capacity of 100,000 aluminum cookware pieces per month and is part of a larger investment program totaling more than US$29 million, as planned for the 2025–2027 period.

The plant in the State of Mexico currently manufactures the Loreto, Rockstar, Paris, Fargo, Sicilia, Ankara, Caribe, Everyday, Versalles, and Nahui lines, all of which are part of the “Made in Mexico” portfolio.

Tramontina's new production capacity is intended to bring manufacturing and consumption closer together within the same market. The company notes that manufacturing in Mexico has helped reduce import lead times, improve the availability of products and replacement parts, and respond more quickly to changes in demand.

Adilson Formentini, CEO of Tramontina Mexico, said: “Local production is also an investment in the country’s talent and industrial capacity: it allows us to be closer to our customers and respond more quickly to the real needs of those who cook every day.”

That is why the manufacturing of hand tools and metal kitchen utensils generated a GDP of US$406,900 during the third quarter of 2025, while in May of that same year, there were 717 economic units engaged in this activity.

Mexico has successfully established a regional kitchenware manufacturing facility thanks to the plant in Lerma, which is expected to directly serve the domestic market and thereby strengthen product availability without relying on international supply chains.

The installed capacity of 100,000 pieces per month equates to a potential output of up to 1.2 million units per year, assuming constant operation at full capacity.
