Fuji OOZX to Invest US$10.2 Million in Guanajuato
Japanese automotive supplier Fuji OOZX will invest US$10.2 million to expand its manufacturing operations in San José Iturbide, Guanajuato, strengthening its production capacity in Mexico and its ability to serve customers across North America.
The project will expand the company’s existing facility and add new production lines dedicated to engine valves. Once completed, the plant is expected to reach a production capacity of more than 2.3 million units per month.
Construction is scheduled to begin in August, with the new operations expected to start in October 2027. The expansion responds to growing demand in the North American market and changing international trade conditions.
Fuji OOZX is also considering the regional trade environment and U.S. economic security policies, including provisions related to the USMCA, as part of its manufacturing strategy.
The investment further consolidates the company’s presence in Guanajuato, where its Mexican subsidiary was established in 2014. The facility has become an important part of Fuji OOZX’s strategy to supply engine components to the North American automotive industry.
In 2024, Fuji OOZX Mexico reported receiving orders from Toyota Motor North America for approximately 14 million exhaust valves annually, with deliveries beginning that year.
