Vehicle Sales in Querétaro Decrease

From January to August 2026, 23,013 new vehicles were sold in the state of Querétaro, reflecting a 3.2% decline compared to the same period last year, according to the state chapter of the Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA).

The president of AMDA in Querétaro, Laura Rodriguez Miranda, reported that, in terms of cumulative sales, the organization ranked 11th in the national market, accounting for 2.4% of sales in Mexico.

In August alone, sales totaled 3,089 new vehicles, representing a 1.7% year-over-year decline; the state ranked ninth among the 32 states.

“In terms of vehicle sales from January through August, we have sold 23,000 new vehicles. Although this is a significant figure, it represents a 3.2% decrease compared to the same period last year, from January through August,” he said

In the truck category, cumulative sales reached 58.9% in the first eight months of the year, with the majority being multipurpose vehicles and the rest being trucks. Meanwhile, the passenger car segment accounted for 41.1% of domestic purchases, with compact cars making up the majority, followed by subcompact, luxury, and sports cars, according to the association.

The capital city of Querétaro remains the state's leading market, accounting for 63% of total sales.

Following the decline in the first quarter, the AMDA reported an improvement in the state's performance, due to the opening of six new dealerships.
