Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) has confirmed that it is collaborating with POSCO International Corp. and a group of Mexican aerospace companies to strengthen aerospace cooperation in Mexico and explore opportunities in the Latin American market as a whole.

Under the agreement, KAI plans to develop business models that include cooperation with the supply chain, as well as to identify new business opportunities in Latin America. POSCO International will support efforts to integrate select Mexican companies into KAI’s aerospace manufacturing supply chain.

“Building on our cooperation with Mexico, we will accelerate efforts to introduce the FA-50 light fighter jet to Latin America and expand our presence in the North and South American markets in the future,” said KAI CEO Kim Jong-chul in a statement.

FEMIA has more than 100 member companies and represents them; as such, it will facilitate exchanges with Mexico’s aerospace ecosystem, help identify potential local partners, and provide information on relevant government policies.
